BREAKING NEWS: ESPN Extends Agreement for Wimbledon

As Wolf Blitzer of CNN would say, “Happening now….”

ESPN continues to sign up the world’s major sporting events. It has extended an agreement with the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to air the Wimbledon tennis tournament on ESPN2 and its digital platform, ESPN360 through 2013. The Alleged Worldwide Leader will show 100 hours of the tournament each year through the men’s and women’s semifinals.

The agreement not only includes U.S. cable rights, but international rights as well.

More details as they become available.
