I'll do this quickly and next week put the records together. I was up late watching the Red Sox-Rays and then I've been waiting for a DirecTV repairman who has yet to show despite being promised that this guy would show up between 8 and noon today. I'm writing this at 12:04 p.m, ET. I would say the guy is late at this point. This is the second time I've waited for a DirecTV repaiman, I took a day from work on Monday and now, on a holiday weekend, the repair guy promised me he would be here and I don't see any DirecTV trucks in the neighborhood. Great job, DirecTV. Actually, the company's name is Halsted Communications, a contractor for DirecTV. My suggestion to DirecTV is to end its contract with this company because it leaves customers in the lurch. This is the second time I've been left hanging with a repair issue. I like DirecTV and prefer it over cable. However, DirecTV needs to reconsider subcontracting repairs in the New England area to Halsted.
Ok, here are your picks.
Carolina at Tampa Bay - Fox, 1 p.m.
Take Carolina at 4-1 to take this game. Final score, Panthers, 33-18.
Baltimore at Indy - CBS, 1 p.m.
Battle of two 2-2 teams. I like Indy in this one although the Ravens will beat them up physically as other teams have this season. Colts, 23-20.
St. Louis at Washington - Fox, 1 p.m.
Are you kidding me? Redskins all the way at home, 38-6.
Miami at Houston - CBS, 1 p.m.
Houston played Indy tough until Sage Rosenfels thought he was John Elway and fumbled twice. Miami wins, 6-3.
Detroit at Minnesota - Fox, 1 p.m.
I feel for the Lions, I really do. I hate to pick against them because this team will find a way to win this season, but it won't be today. Vikes, 24-10.
Oakland at New Orleans - CBS, 1 p.m.
The Saints take this one, 36-18.
Chicago at Atlanta - Fox, 1 p.m.
I'll go with Atlanta since Matt Ryan plays better at home, although he got a victory at Lambeau Field last week. Falcons, 17-9.
Cincinnati at New York Jets - CBS, 1 p.m.
The Jets roll over Cinci, 31-3.
Jacksonville at Denver - CBS, 4:05 p.m.
Denver wins, 38-33.
Philly at San Francisco - Fox, 4:15 p.m.
Iggles need to win this in the worst way. Philadephia, 23-14.
Green Bay at Seattle - Fox, 4:15 p.m.
Two more teams desperate for a win. Take Seattle at home, 17-14.
Dallas at Arizona - Fox, 4:15 p.m.
Go with the Cowboys in a hard fought win, 27-20.
New England at San Diego - NBC, 8:15 p.m.
Patriots will have their ups and downs. Chargers have mostly down. Pats win, 27-24.
New York Giants at Cleveland - Monday, ESPN, 8:40 p.m.
I hate to pick against my Browns, but take the defending Super Bowl Champs, 15-0.
