He'll Do What? John Madden To Take This Sunday Off

This is why blogging is a 24 hour cycle. Leave it to an enterprising reporter to follow up on a comment made by Al Michaels and John Madden during the Sunday Night Football game. They mentioned Madden would take this Sunday's game off between the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and not make the cross country trek from San Diego where the previous NBC game was held.

Leonard Shapiro of the Washington Post notes that this is the first time that Madden will take a Sunday off after 476 games since 1980 when he began calling games in the booth for CBS.
