Jim Valvano's 1993 ESPY Awards Speech

This is the famous "Never Give Up" speech that Jim Valvano gave at the ESPY Awards at Madison Square Garden in 1993. ESPN has yet to match the emotion from this one moment at the ESPY's, although the network has tried with some silly staged ones at the awards show, but nothing has come close.

While I'm a critic of ESPN, I do support its efforts to raise money for cancer research and as this is Jimmy V Week, ESPN.com has released the Jim Valvano speech to not only kick off the week, but to also remember the one moment when Jim Valvano transcended sports and gave us a moment that has lasted through time.
