The Only Golf This Weekend

Without the Skins Game this weekend, the only golf on TV is in Communist China. And while Tiger Woods isn't playing, familiar names like Stuart Appleby, Nick Watney and Sergio Garcia are. Golf Channel has the event and here are details.

Broadcast Notes: The Omega Mission Hills World Cup will be produced and broadcast in high definition…The 55th installment of the World Cup of Golf will feature two-person teams representing 28 countries. Sweden’s Robert Karlsson and Henrik Stenson, the seventh ranked player in the Official World Golf Rankings, will look to defend their 2008 championship against some of the world’s top players, including Australia’s Stuart Appleby and Robert Allenby; Germany’s Martin Kaymer and Alex Cejka; England’s Ross Fisher and Ian Poulter; Ireland’s Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell; United States’ Nick Watney and John Merrick and Spain’s Sergio Garcia and Gonzalo Fernandez, among others …. A 72-hole stroke play team event, the first and third days are four-ball (best ball) play and the second and final days are foursomes play.
